Events for the calendar
There has been a change of venue for the October General Meeting. It will be held at Waverley Renault in Springvale Rd Mulgrave (opposite Brandon Park Shopping Centre); arrive from 6:30pm for prompt start at 7.00pm. This is to coincide with the launch of the new Megane RS.
For catering purposes we need to know numbers attending.

The Renault Car Club of Victoria’s Annual General Meeting will be held on July 17th 2018 at the Dorothy Laver Pavilion in Saxby Street, Glen Iris commencing at 7:30pm.
All offices (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Secretary) and committee positions will become vacant and elections held for of members to fill them.
Nominations of members for new office bearers and general committee members are to be given to the Secretary by 10th July, prior to the meeting. Where there has been no nomination for an office, nominations may be received at the meeting.

Any items for the Agenda and proposed motions are to be submitted by members to the Secretary by 10th July 2018.
As usual, the Renault Round-Up car display is open to all classic and modern Renaults. Unlike last year, we will have fair weather and sunshine this year. We will, promise. Well, we included that in our order at least.
Location this year is the same as last year – the Caribbean Gardens in Scoresby. There are two entrances; one off Ferntree Gully Road less than one km from the Eastlink Tollway exit and another off Stud Road. Below the flyer is a map showing in more detail where the display area is in the Gardens.
Non-RCCV club members are especially welcome to display their car at the Round-Up. It’s the best value car show around – free to display your car and free for everyone to come and view. Apart from the $2.50 Caribbean Gardens charge for vehicle entry to the venue.
But for that $2.50 you get so much more… the Caribbean Gardens is a great family-friendly setting with something for everyone. There’s the market (for the Dads), playground and rides (for the Mums) and, of course, masses of Renaults for the Kids. We’re avoiding the stereotyping this year, or is that just swapping it around?
The Round-Up is supported this year by Alpine Affaire, Berwick Tyrepower, Qualitool and Renault Australia. For this concours event there will be awards for Best Post-2001 Renault, Best Pre-2001 Renault, Best Sporting Renault (covering RS, Alpine and Gordini), People’s Choice and, of course, Best Renault in Show. In addition, we plan to have a door prize and a raffle – you don’t have to be concours competitive to walk away with a prize.
We’re also working on a special treat display which we’ll tell you about later when the concrete starts to set . . .
Cars can arrive from from 8:30am and the show formally starts at 9:30 and runs to around 3pm. Concours award presentation scheduled for 1:30 – 2:00 pm.

We have Senior Leading Constable Craig Mc Kenzie from Vic Police Traffic Operations coming to speak to us at this month’s meeting in Glen Iris.
This is an opportunity to ask questions about any confusing road rules etc.

The Caribbean Gardens is having their 50th anniversary in February and there’s even more to see and do than usual. The night before the Round-Up is the big event with holographic light display and water skiing exhibitions on the lake. More details on their website here.
